Recently supported 1 SQN RAF Regt on one of their annual validation training exercises. Nautilus SMEs provided medical simulation with the high fidelity SimMan 3G Trauma for high intervention medical serials, including the ALS capable high fidelity SimBodies. Team Medics were able to deal with the casualties at the point of wounding and evacuate them away from the killing ground. The simulated casualties were carried back from the FLOT into armoured vehicles and onto to a secure HLS for extraction. Battlefield effects used included Heavy Machine Gun fire, smoke machines, sound box simulators and the MOAB IED effects. Combining all of these simulated effects certainly looked like it put the Regiment through their paces, whilst at the same time enabled very realistic medical training to take place.
