Another successful week of accredited simulated JTAC training to 1 Arty Bde at Tidworth. JTACs from 19 Regt RA and 1 RHA operated from static OP positions and Warrior AFVs, controlling a multi layered ROZ, whilst conducting Joint Fires missions in permissive and non-permissive environments. Brigade TACP signallers based in an Ops Room set up, practised checking in and allocating aircraft to the JTACs and numerous CQ and currency controls were conducted during the week. The training culminated with night AC-130 Gunship call for fire missions and helicopter insertion methods, whilst in close contact with the enemy.
