In close partnership with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Magnox Sites, Nautilus delivers accelerated software applications, 3D CAD modelling, visualisations of adverse pathways, simulations, and contingency arrangements.
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is cleaning up the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, securely, and cost-effectively with care for people and the environment. Magnox Sites are responsible for the safe and secure clean-up of 12 nuclear-licensed sites and the operation of one hydroelectric plant.
Nautilus has developed innovative and secure software applications that are being used by Magnox Sites & Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. The Major Incident Response Application (MIRA) affords Magnox Management & Security personnel complete situational awareness to remotely manage, view, and respond to any incident or threats. MIRA currently exists for Magnox Sites Bradwell & Sizewell A.
MIRA enables table-top and regulator-witnessed training exercises to take place. Any conceivable threat can be realistically simulated, without the costly need for multiple exercise participants. This significantly enhances current capabilities, whilst dramatically reducing costs, enabling a high degree of crisis management confidence and importantly approval and validation in front of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. MIRA is forward-compatible with, under UK Government draft Legislation, Martyn’s Law or The Protect Duty. The Government has confirmed that draft legislation to enforce stronger protection against terrorism in public places such as venues will be published in early spring.
