Connect the casualty care pathway
Rehearse assessment, resuscitation, communication and handover across a representative casualty pathway. Scenarios can support Role 1 and Role 2 team training and preparation for damage control surgery, with qualified clinical instructors setting the learning and assessment requirements.
Select the right simulation tools
Options include SimMan 3G Trauma and SimMan 3G PLUS, casualty actors, moulage and simulated bodies or body parts. Select the equipment for the intended clinical task. Surgical procedural training requires appropriate task trainers and qualified instruction; a patient manikin is not a complete surgical simulator.
Questions about this capability
Can medical simulation form part of a wider exercise?
Yes. Medical serials can be planned alongside other training activity, with casualty flow, team coordination and handover objectives agreed in advance.
Can you support mass casualty training?
Nautilus can discuss specialist casualty representation, scenario support and the staffing and equipment needed for the proposed scale.
Does an exercise automatically validate clinical competence?
No. Clinical assessment criteria, assessors and any qualification requirements must be agreed with the responsible training authority.
