Using Bohemia’s VBS 3 and Fires FST, JTACs can train in realistic and immersive environments using the form, fit function equipment as used on operations. The Accredited 180 JTAC simulator can be installed at any UK location and have JTACs controlling missions within 2 hours. The 180 JTAC simulator utilises several fixed and rotary wing platforms in a collaborative Joint Fires environment. Annual engagement and certification with front-line Fast Jet, Rotary Wing, and Remotely Pilot Aircraft crews allow our expert JTAC trainers to maintain their simulated pilot currency by attending annual validation checks.  To attain the title of CAS Simulator Aircrew the trainers must pass an annual written and practical evaluation by JALO STANEVAL. The practical evaluation entails watching the JTAC trainers simulate any platform in a demanding scenario to ensure compliance.

JTAC participants gain realistic experience by simulating being on the ground, using target acquisition to call in airstrikes on enemy locations.
