Who we are:

Nautilus International Risk Consultants Ltd specialises in providing all aspects of managed simulation training services, support, tracking and capabilities within Defence, Law Enforcement, Security Services and other Government Departments. Using specialist simulation software applications, we significantly reduce exercise training costs by supplying specialist simulation training services in the UK and Overseas. Founded in 2005, we are an established UK defence company developing exciting simulation training services capabilities, such as virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality solutions.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for someone with a technical mindset and a passion for delivering cutting-edge simulation training services technology. The individual has a background within defence at either junior or senior non-commissioned officer rank. They have working knowledge of networking, military communication systems, command, control, computers, and communication systems, and wish to expand their skills and experience. They will join our delivery team to create geo-specific terrains within Virtual Battle Space 4 to deliver simulated training services to the UK MOD and our allies. The individual will learn to operate the ARMA-based Virtual Battle Space 4 application to push simulated geo-specific Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) to military customers worldwide. They will assist with providing simulations on live military training exercises in the UK and overseas. A command course, NVQ or equivalent, is strongly preferred, but not required if they have experience in all the essential skills listed below.

Essential

  • Minimum of 6 years of military experience.
  • Experience working with command, control, computer and communication information (C4I) systems.
  • Working knowledge of networking and computer information technologies (CIS).
  • Ability to learn new software and techniques.
  • Computer literate, i.e European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, being flexible and providing realistic estimates for completion of tasks.
  • Ability to communicate with other members of the team and have good problem-solving skills.
  • Would be required to live locally in the Poole/Bournemouth/Dorset area.
  • Content to be independently interviewed and provide personal information to obtain a classified security clearance.
  • Willing to work on military sites with team members.
  • Willing to fly and travel overseas for short periods.
  • Full UK driving licence, vehicle, and valid passport.

Desirable

  • Experience with former employment relevant to command and control (C2) systems, ATAK, WinTAk and common operating pictures.
  • Preference worked in communications (J6) as a subject matter expert.
  • Communications and targeting experience gained from operations.
  • General understanding of Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
  • Experience with other relevant military software applications.
  • Experience with eXtended Reality systems for military applications.
  • Have a basic working knowledge of Virtual Battle Space 4 (VBS4) applications within defence.
  • Working knowledge of Digital Terrain Elevation Data, Shape Files,  Digital Mapping and Map Layers.
